Electrostatic energy (E) = Q2/8π ∈0 R

Explanation:

From the given,

Charge on the sphere = Q

Radius of the sphere = R

Capacitance of the sphere, \mathrm{C}=4 \pi \in 0 \mathrm{R}

The Energy of the Capacitor (E) = 1 / 2 \mathrm{CV} 2

Where C = Capacitance of the circuit

V = Potential difference / voltage across the capacitor

∈0 = dielectric constant of the material used between the plates of the capacitor.

By substituting the values

=1/2 X 4π∈0 R X Q2/ (4π∈0 R) 2

Hence,

Electrostatic energy (E) = Q2/8π ∈0 R
