Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

p (2,-1) is equidistant from A (a,7) and B (-3, a)

hence ,

PA =PB

take square both side

PA^2 =PB^2

use distance formula

PA=root {(a -2)^2 +(7+1)^2}

PA^2 =(a-2)^2 + (8)^2

in the same way ,

PB^2 =(-5)^2 +(a+1)^2

so ,

(-5)^2 +(a+1)^2 =(8)^2 +(a-2)^2

a^2 + 2a + 1 -a^2 +4a -4 =64- 25

6a -3 =39

6a =42

a =7 (ans )
