A point P is 25cm away from the centre O of a circle and the length PQ of the tangent segment drawn From P to the circle is 24cm.Find the radius

By Pythagoras theorem,

OP^2 + PQ^2 = OQ^2

 OP^2 + 24^2 = 25^2

OP^2 = 625 - 576

OP^2 = 49

OP = 7

The radius of the circle will be 7cm.
