A point P is shown on the number line. Starting from P, if you move 9 units to the right, 14 to the left and again 4 to the right, where would you finally end up?

A point P is shown on the number line. P is at -3.5.

Starting from P, if you move 9 units to the right means -3.5 + 9 = 5.5.

14 to the left from 5.5 means 5.5 - 14 = -8.5.

And again 4 to the right means -8.5 + 4 = -4.5.

-4.5 lies between -4 and -5.

Hence P would end up between -4 and -5 .
