Let the total distance of the pole be x

the part underground = x * 1/6

the part in water = x* 1/4

the rest = 14m

therefore the total distance, x= x*1/6 + x*1/4 + 14

x( 1 - 1/6 - 1/4 ) = 14

x=24m
