A political party won the elections in 1986. Since then no new elections have taken place and that party continues to run the government. Is this country democratic today? Give your reasons to argue for or against it.​

FOR :

  • The country with the prolonged ruling party might have a good scope to be democratic if the ruler has a mind set of ruling royally and organised .
  • The country can take immediate actions on development on organising complex structures of default laws , regulations and norms . hence when the party leader gives respect and nationalism to his country and follow those rules then the country would be democratic.

AGAINST :

  • The country most probably be non democratic because the need and the interest of people might change according to their situations . Hence a representative with different idealogy might help them to develop.
  • We can't say that the leader of the party might take this regin has his control and force the people to work for his own taught . hence there would be no scope of democracy there rather than dictatorship ...;):););)
