Euler's formula:

Faces + vertices = edges + 2

10 + vertices = 16 + 2

10 + vertices = 18

vertices = 18 - 10

vertices = 8

Number of vertices = 8

Euler's Formula says that for a polyhedron, sum of the number of faces and vertices is 2 more than the number of edges. i.e.

Faces + vertices = edges +

Note that this works only for a polyhedron.
