A potential difference of 220V is a applied across a resistance of 440Ω in an electrical appliance. Calculate the current drawn and the heat energy produced in 20 seconds.

V= 220 V
R= 440 ohm
I=V/R=220/440=0.5 A

Heat energy = I2RT = = 2200 KJ = 2.2J

Hey buddy,

◆ Answer-
I = 0.5 A
W = 2200 J

◆ Explanation-
# Given-
V = 220 V
R = 440 Ω
t = 20 s

# Solution-
Current flowing through circuit -
I = V / R
I = 220 / 440
I = 0.5 A

Heat energy is given by -
W = VIt
W = 220 × 0.5 × 20
W = 2200 J

Therefore, current flowing through circuit is 0.5 A and work done is 2200 J.

Hope this helps you...

*answer

potential difference (v)=220V; Resistance (R) =440ohms; I=?;time (T)!=-20;H=?

Current drawn

V=IR

I=V/I 250/440=0.56

The current through the resistance =0.56

*heat energy

H=VIT

H=250v×0.56×20s=2800joules
