Answer400 turns

Explanation:as u know,

Np/Ns=Vp/Vs

4000/x=2300/230

4000/x=10

x= no. of turns in secondary=400

A power transmission line feeds input power at 2300 V to a stepdown transformer with its primary windings having 4000 turns. What should be the number of turns in the secondary in order to get output power at 230 V?

answer : 400

explanation : voltage of primary in order to feed input power , Ep = 2300V

voltage of secondary in order to get output power , Es = 230V

number of turns in primary, Np = 4000

we have to find number of turns in secondary.

we know in a transformer,

\frac{E_p}{N_P}=\frac{E_s}{N_s}

or, 2300V/(4000) = 230/Ns

or, Ns = 230 × 4000/2300 = 400 turns

hence, number of turns in the secondary = 400
