Before, finding the answer. Let's find out on how we can find the answer.

  • For finding the cost of fencing, we must first find the Perimeter of farm by the forumla of

\boxed{\purple \star \: \sf Perimeter \: of \: Rectangle = (2 \times l) + (2 \times b) } and multiply with cost of fence.

  • For finding the cost of ploughing, we must first find the Area by the formula of

\boxed{\red \star \: \sf Perimeter \: of \: Rectangle = l \times b } and multiply with cost of ploughing.

  • Then, we must add both the cost to get the total cost.

Given :

  • Length of Rectangular farm = 18 m
  • Breadth of Rectangular farm = 12 m
  • Cost of fencing = ₹ 30 per m
  • Cost of ploughing = ₹ 90 per sq.m

To find :

  • Total cost to pay for fencing and ploughing the farm.

Solution :

Perimeter of Rectangular Farm = (2 × l) + (2 × b)

                                                    = (2 × 18) + (2 × 12)

                                                    = 36 + 24 m

                                                    = 60 m

Rate for fencing the farm = perimeter × rate

                                          = 60 × 30

                                          = ₹ 1800

Hence, the cost for Fencing is ₹ 1800.

----------------

Area of Rectangular Farm = l × b

                                           = 18 × 12 sq.m

                                           = 216 sq.m

Hence, the area of rectangular farm is 216 sq.m

Rate for ploughing the farm = area × rate

                                          = 216 × 90

                                          = ₹ 19440

Hence, the cost for ploughing is ₹ 19440.

Total cost = Cost of fencing + Cost of Ploughing

                = ₹ 1800 + 19440

                = ₹ 21240

Hence, total cost is ₹ 21240.
