A pressure of 10 Pa acts on an area of 3 m 2 . What is the force acting on the area

We know that,

Pressure (P) = Force (F) / Area (A)

P = F/A

F = P × A

∴ F = 10 × 3 = 30 N

Case (2)

If A is made 1/3

1/3 of A ⇒ 1/3× 3 = 1

 F = P × A

F = 10 × 1 = 10 N

∴ If the area is made one - third, then the force also become one - third
