Given:

The prism angle is  A= 60°

The minimum deviation Ф= 30°

To find:

The refractive index of the material.

Solution:

The formula for the refractive index is

n= sin((A+Ф)/2)/sin(A/2)

Put the above values in the equation

n= sin((60+30)/2)/sin(60/2)

n=sin(45)/sin(30)

n=(1/√2)/(1/2)

n=√2

n=1.41

So the refractive index of material of the prism is n= 1.41

Given:-

The prism angle is A=60°

The minimum deviation Ø=30°

To Find

The refractive index of the material

The formula for the refractive index is

n= sin (A+Ø)/sin (A/2)

put the above values in the equation

n= sin (45/sin(30)

n=(1/√2/(1/2)

n=√2

n=1.41

so the refractive index of the material of the prism is n=1.41
