Profit different between X and Y is Rs. 100(b)
Solution:
Profit = Rs. 500
Ratio of X, Y = 1/2 : 1/3
Sum of ratio = 1/2 + 1/3 = 5/6
Profit of X = 500 * (1/2)/(5/6)
=> 500 * 6/10 = Rs. 300
Profit of Y = 500 * (1/3)/(5/6)
=> 500 * 6/15 = Rs. 200
Profit difference between X and Y = Rs. 300 - Rs. 200 = Rs. 100.
Solution:
Profit = Rs. 500
Ratio of X, Y = 1/2 : 1/3
Sum of ratio = 1/2 + 1/3 = 5/6
Profit of X = 500 * (1/2)/(5/6)
=> 500 * 6/10 = Rs. 300
Profit of Y = 500 * (1/3)/(5/6)
=> 500 * 6/15 = Rs. 200
Profit difference between X and Y = Rs. 300 - Rs. 200 = Rs. 100.
