A projectile is fired horizontally with tje velocity of 36m/s from the top of hill 360m high.

we have to find time taken for it to reach the ground.

here, u_x=36m/s,u_y=0, a_x=0,a_y=g

now, applying formula, y=u_yt+\frac{1}{2}a_yt^2

or, 360m = 0 + 1/2 × 10 × t²

or, 360 = 5t²

or, 72 = t²

or, t = 6√2 sec

hence, time taken to reach the ground is 6√2 sec.

now horizontal distance covered by projectile, x=u_xt

= 36m/s × 6√2 s

= 216√2 m
