A projectile thrown at an angle 30 degrees with the horizontal has a range r1. Another projectile thrown with the same velocity at an angle 60 degrees with the vertical has a range r2.Then the relation between r1 and r2 is

Answer: The ranges r1 and r2 are equal.

Explanation: In the first case, the angle at which the projectile was thrown was 30 degrees. In the next case, it is 60 degrees. So, we can clearly see that the angles are complementary. Hence, as we know that when the angles of projection are complementary, then the ranges are equal .So, we can conclude, r1=r2.
