alpha particle - Helium nucleus of mass 4u and charge 2e

proton - hydrogen nucleus of mass 1u and charge 1e

-

radius of circle described by charged particle in magnetic field

r = mv/qB [it can be derived by equating centripetal force with Lorentz force]

radius = momentum / charge x magnetic field

since radius is inversely proportional to charge, radius of alpha particle will be half of radius of proton.

rHe : rH = 1 : 2
