The path of the proton if its initial direction is parallel to the field is a straight line

• We know that force on a charged particle is given by the formula,

F = q(v×B)

F = qvBsin \alpha

• When  \alpha = 0 i.e angle between velocity and magnetic field is 0

• sin \alpha = 0

F = 0

i.e Force acting on the particle is zero, so it will follow straight line
