A pure yellow flower is crossed with a white flower . The f1 offsprings were all yellow in colour . The f1 gemeration were self pollinated. State the genotype of the flowers in f1 generation.

Let's assume Y is yellow colour flower which is dominant and y is white colour flower which is recessive.

From the question it is given that yellow colour is dominant because all the flowers are showing yellow colour which shows complete dominance.

Selfing of F1 generation. Yy and Yy are gametes.

YY, Yy, Yy, yy. ( F2 generation / children)

3 : 1

Then after self pollination of F1 generation we get the genotype of the flower in the ratio 3:1 in which three are showing dominancy( one is pure dominant flower and other two are hybrid ) and 1 shows recessive character.
