Answer:

Total amount in a purse= 550

Let number of notes of 10 =x

The number of notes of 50= x-1

According to the condition,

x×10+(x−1)×50=550

⟹10x+50x−50=550

⟹60x=550+50=600

⟹x=10

50 rupees notes= 10-1= 9

Answer:

the answer is 9

Step-by-step explanation:

let the no of notes of rs 10 be x then no of notes of rs 50 be x-1

value of 10 rupees notes = 10 X x = rs 10x

value of 50 rupees notes = 50 X (x-1) = rs 50x - 50

A/Q = 10x + 50x - 50 = 550

60x = 550 +50

60x = 600

x = 10

no of 50 rupees notes = x- 1 = 10 - 1 = 9
