Let, no. of 500 rupee notes be x.
So, no. of 100 rupee notes = 30 - x
Value of 500 rupee notes = Rs. 500x
Value of 100 rupee notes = Rs. 100 ( 30 - x )
                                         = Rs. 3000 - 100x
ATQ, 500x + 300 - 100x = 5000
         400x = 5000 - 3000
         x = 2000/400
            = 5
So, No. of 500 rupee notes = 5 ( ANS )
      No. of 100 rupee notes = 30 - 5
                                            = 25 ( ANS )

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no. of 100 rupee notes be x

The number of 500 rupee notes if 100 rupee notes are x=30-x

=100x+500(30-x)=5000

=100x+15000-500x=5000

=100x-500x=5000-15000

=100x-500x= -10000

= -400x= -10000

=x=-10000/-400

=x=25

So,x=25 which means no. of 100 rupee notes=25

Then 500 rupee notes=30-x=30-25=5

ANSWER-100 rupee notes=25

500 rupee notes=5
