Let the 2 Rupee coin be X and 5 Rupee coin be Y.

Then,
Sum of coins
X + Y = 36............ (A)
And
Total value of coins
2X + 5Y = 84............ (B)
On solving Equation A and B
we get,
X=32 and Y=4
Hence the number of 5 rupees coins is 4.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of Rs.2 coins = x

Number of Rs.5 coins = y

x + y = 36 (number of total coins) — 1

2x + 5y = 84 (total value) — 2

1:

2(x + y - 36 = 0)

2x + 2y - 72 = 0

2x + 2y = 72

Elimination method:

       2x + 5y = 84

       2x + 2y = 72

  (-)        3y = 12

=> y = 12/3

=> y = 4 (Rs.5 coins number)

Therefore, the total number of Rs.5 coins is 4.
