A Q.4. Translate the following statements into chemical
equations and then balance them.
(a) Hydrogen gas combines with nitrogen to form
ammonia

a. 3H +N = NH3

b.H2S+ 3O=H2O +SO

c.3BaCl2 + Al2 (SO4)3 = 2AlCl3 + 3BaSO4

d.K+ H2O = KOH + H

Explanation:

a. hydrogen = H

nitrogen = N

ammonia = NH3

So equation is,

H + N = NH3

therefore, 3H + N = NH3

b. hydrogen sulphide = H2S

In air there are many gases but in this equation we required had is oxygen

therefore I have used = O

Water = H2O

Sulphur Dioxide = SO2

So equation will be

H2S + O = H2O + SO2

So after balancing the equation

H2S + 3O = H2O + SO2

c. Barium chloride = BaCl2

Aluminium Sulphate = Al2(SO4)3

Aluminium Chloride = AlCl3

Barium sulphate = BaSO4

so equation will be

BaCl2 + Al2 (SO4)3 = AlCl3 + BaSO4

after balancing the equation it will be

3BaCl2 +Al2 (SO4)3 = 2AlCl3 + 3 BaSO4

d. Potassium = K

Water = H2O

Potassium hydroxide = KOH

Hydrogen gas = H

So equation will be

K + H2O = KOH + H

And equation is already balanced so there's no need to balance it.
