The quadratic polynomial x² - 7 have zeroes as - 7 & 7

Given :

The polynomial x² - 7

To find :

The zeroes of the polynomial

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given polynomial

Let p(x) be the given polynomial

Then p(x) = x² - 7

Step 2 of 2 :

Find zeroes of the polynomial

For Zeroes of the polynomial we have

\displaystyle \sf{  p(x) = 0}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies  {x}^{2} - 7  = 0}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies  {x}^{2} -  {( \sqrt{7} )}^{2}  = 0}

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies (x +  \sqrt{7})(x -  \sqrt{7}    )= 0}

x + √7 = 0 gives x = - √7

x - √7 = 0 gives x = √7

Hence the quadratic polynomial x² - 7 have zeroes - √7 & √7
