A radio was made in which a metal rod was put in the ground and the wire was attached to the metal rod which in turn was attached to radio circuit.why do u think that metal rod is attached to the wire?

There a wire known as earth wire  which  provides a low resistance path from the metal body of any appliance to the earth surface
If current enters the metal body due to a fault then a very large current flows  and so the fuse blows in the live side of the circuit and cuts off the supply.and prevents catching fire in the house and prevents harming other devices
