5x/2 +2/3 =-7/12

5x/2=-7/12–8/12=-15/12=-5/4 // (2/3=8/12)

x=-1/2

Rational no. Is of form p/q
Let us take p/q =x
As per question,

x*5/2 + 2/3= -7/12
 Solving L.H.S by taking LCM we get

x* 5/2 + 2/3 = (15x + 4) /6
Now,
Solving both sides
(15x + 4)/6 = -7/12
30x +8 = -7
30x = -15
x = -1/2

Hence, x=-1/2 therefore,
p/q = -1/2 Ans

Answer:

Let x be the rational number.

5/2 × ( 3 / 3 = 7 / 12 )

5/2 * = 7 / 12 -1/3

5/2 = -7 - ( 2 - 4 ) / 12

5/2 × - 15 / 2

Multiplying both sides by ( 2/15 )

x = - 15 / 12 × 2 / 5 = - 1/2

.•. Rational number = - 1/2
