The value of angle of deviation is 30°

Explanation:

We are given:

i = e = 3/4 A

Angle of incidence   = i

Emergence  = e

Angle of prism = A

Where

Angle of deviation  for a ray of light in a prism is given by

ρ = i + e - A

ρ = 2i - A

Therefore equation (1) we have

ρ = 2 x 3/4 x A - a

ρ =  1/2 A

Prism is an equilateral triangle.

ρ = 1/2 x 60 = 30°

Thus the value of angle of deviation is 30°
