Crop production depends on the availability of arable land and is affected in particular by yields. It is the branch of agriculture with growing crops for food and fibers.

The important types of crops are :-

  • {\underline{\sf{\orange{Cereal\:Crops-}}}} Wheat, rice, maize, mullets and sorghum provide carbohydrates for energy requirement.

  • {\underline{\sf{\orange{Pulses-}}}} Gram, pea, black gram, green Gram, pigeon peas, lentil which provides protein.

  • {\underline{\sf{\orange{Oilseeds\:crops-}}}} Groundnut, soya bean, sesame, castor, mustard, linseed and sunflower which provide fats.

  • {\underline{\sf{\orange{Vegetable,\:Spices\:And\:Fuirts-}}}} They provide us the range of vitamins and minerals along with the small quantities of proteins carbohydrates and fats.

  • {\underline{\sf{\orange{Food\:Crops\:Fodder\:Crops-}}}} Berseem, Oats or sudden grasses are raised for food for the livestock.
