a ray of light strikes a plane mirror XY at an angle of incidence 65 degree, is reflected from the plane mirror and then strikes a second plane mirror YZ placed at right angles to the first mirror. What is the angle of reflection for the mirror YZ?

In the first mirror XY,

Angle of incidence=65°

We know that,

Angle of incidence=angle of reflection (from laws of reflection)

So,angle of reflection=65°

Now,since the second mirror YZ is placed at right angle to the first mirror XY,

The angle of incidence=90°-65°

=25°

Angle of incidence=angle of reflection

Therefore the angle of reflection for the mirror YZ =25°

Hope it helps you
