A ray of light traveling in air falls on the surface of water.
The angle of incidence is 60° with the normal to the surface. The refractive index of water =4/ 3. Calculate the

Answer:

Using the average refractive index for air, approximately 1.0003, the angle of refraction can be found using snells law.

n1Sin(θ1)=n2Sin(θ2)

So

1.0003Sin(60)=1.33Sin(θ)

0.8663=1.33Sin(θ)

0.86631.33=Sin(θ)

0.6513=Sin(θ)

Sin−1(0.6513)=θ

θ≈40.64°

So, the angle of refraction would be approximately 40.64°
