a ray of light travelling in air enters obliquely into water.Does the light ray bend towards the normal or away from the normal?why?

The light is travelling from air to water.

That is it is travelling from rarer to a denser medium

Hence it will bend towards normal

the ray will bend towards the normal because the water has more refractive index due it is more optical denser medium and gradually the speed of light in water decreases and it bend towards normal
