Incident angle=45
angle of refraction = 15
if refractive index of air is 1, then
RI of the transparent medium = 1 + incident angle/angle of refraction
=1+ 15/45
=1+1/3
=1+0.333
=1.333
Refractive index of the transparent medium is 1.333

Given:

Angle of incident

= 45

Angle of refraction

= 15

To Find:

The refractive index of the material = ?

Solution:

As we know,

⇒  RI \ of \ the\ transparent \ medium = 1 + \frac{Angle \ of \ incident}{Angle \ of \ refraction}

On substituting the given values, we get

⇒                                                     =1+\frac{15}{45}

⇒                                                     =1+0.333

⇒                                                     =1.333

So that the refractive index will be "1.333".
