Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

f = +22.5 cm

● Explanation -

For real image,

M = -v/u

1/5 = -18/u

u = -5×18

u = -90 cm

Focal length is calculated as -

1/f = 1/u + 1/v

1/f = 1/-90 + 1/18

1/f = 2/45

f = 45/2

f = +22.5 cm

As focal length is positive, mirror must be convex mirror.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
