We know that the perimeter of both the square and the rectangle are equal.

So, first we should find the perimeter of the rectangle. That is,

2(l+b)

We know that, l = 8cm & b = 6cm.

Substituting here, we get,

= 2(8+6)

= 2(14)

= 28cm

Since the perimeter of both of them are equal, we can say that,

Perimeter of square = 28cm.

But,

Perimeter of square = 4 × s.

So, 4 × s = 28cm

Therefore, s = 28cm/4

S = 7 cm

Therefore, the side of the square is 7 cm.

Hope it helps you!
