Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Perimeter of the rectangle and Square = 220m.

Perimeter of the square = 4a = 220m ⇒a = 220m / 4 ⇒a = 55m

Therefore, the side of the square = a = 55m. And also given that,

The rectangle has a breadth 2m less than that of the square

= 55m - 2m = 53m

Therefore, the breadth of the rectangle = 53m

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (l+ b )= 220m

⇒ 2 ( l + 53 ) = 220

⇒ l + 53 = 220 / 2

⇒ l + 53 = 110

⇒ l = 110 - 53

⇒l = 57m

Therefore, the length of the rectangle = l = 57m.

∴ Area of the rectangle = length × breadth = 57m × 53m = 3021 square meter
