Hey mate!!!!

We know that area =
l \times b
Here we should find the factors of 18.
Factors of 18 are
1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

Now the sides could be long as 18 itself.

Examples:-
l × b

1) 1 × 18
2) 2 × 9
3) 3 × 6
4) 9× 2
5) 18 × 1
6) 6 × 3

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️

Sides of the rectangle can be 1 , 2 , 3 , 6 , 9 and 18 cm long if area of rectangle is 18 cm² and length of sides are whole number

Given:

A rectangle has  an area of 18 cm²

The length of the sides are whole numbers

To Find:

How long could the sides of the rectangle be

Solution:

Area of a rectangle = length x breadth

Step 1:

Find Product of whole numbers which Equate with 18

1 x 18 = 18

2 x 9 = 18

3 x 6 = 18

6 x 3 = 18

9 x 2 = 18

18 x 1 = 18

Step 2:

Hence, Length and Breadth of rectangle can be

(1 , 18) , (2 , 9) , (3 , 6) , (6 , 3) , ( 9 , 2) and ( 18 , 1)

Sides of the rectangle can be 1 , 2 , 3 , 6 , 9 and 18 cm long
