Given:

length of the rectangle = 40cm

breadth of the rectangle = 20cm

Area of the rectangle = length × breadth

= 40cm × 20cm

= 800cm²

Side of square = 10cm

=> Area of square = 10cm × 10cm = 100cm²

Number of squares = Area of rectangle/ Area of square

=> 800cm²/ 100cm²

=> 8 squares

Answer: Length of rectangle= L×B

= 40×20

= 800 square cm

Sides of a square = 10cm

Area of square = Side×Side

= 10×10

=100 square cm

Squares that can be formed from rectangle

=Area of rectangle÷ Area of square

=800÷100

= 8

Therefore, 8 squares can be formed by the rectangle having length 40 cm and Breadth 20 cm
