A rectangle has length 8 m and breadth 9 m . What will be perimeter of a square, having area twice to that of the rectangle ? {Answer is 48}

Answer:

rectangle's area= l× b = 8×9 = 72m

squares area = twice of rectangle's area

= 2×72

= 144m

area of square is therefore equal to 144

the formula for area of square is s2( 2 here is the power of 2 and s is the variable for side)

so s2= 144

s= root of 144

= 12

so one side length is 12 m

so perimeter of square = 4s

= 4× 12= 48m
