Given a rectangular piece of Canvas with length = 25 cm and breadth = 16 cm. A triangular piece with base 14 cm and height 12 cm is cut from it.

To find :- The area of remaining portion.

Let's take out the area of rectangle and triangle.

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

=> area of rectangle = 25 × 16 = 400 cm²

And area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

=> 1/2 × 14 × 12

= 7 × 12

= 84 cm²

Now what we can do for finding the remaining portion's area?

Think what would happen if we subtract the triangle's area from the rectangle's?

We will get the area of remaining portion!

So, area of remaining portion = area of rectangle - area of triangle

=> 400 - 84

= 316 cm²

Answer :- 316 cm²

_____Here's your Answer ____________

Given;

For Rectangular piece

Length = 25 cm.

Breadth = 16 cm.

=> Area = 25 × 16

=> Area = 400 cm^2.

Now,

For Triangle,

Base = 14 cm

Height = 12 cm.

=> Area of Triangle = 1/2 × base × Height

=> 1/2 × 14 × 12

=> 7 × 12

=> 84 cm^2.

Now,

Area of remaining piece = Ar. of rect. - Ar. of Triangle

=> 400 - 84

=> 316 cm^2.

Therefore,

Area of remaining piece is 316 cm^2.
