A rectangular acrylic sheet is 18cm by 15cm. From it, 32 circular buttons, each of diameter 3.2cm have been cut out. find the area of the remaining sheet.

Answer:

Area of rectangular sheet=18×15=270 square cm

diameter of button is = 3.2 cm

therefore radius=3.2/2=1.6cm

area one button=πr2

=3.14×1.6×1.6

=8.03sq.cm

hence area of 32buttons=32×8=256sq.cm

therefore,remaining area of sheet=270-256

=14sq.cm
