a rectangular field has to be fenced on three sides leaving a side of 20 feet uncovered.if the srea of the field is 680sq.feet how many feet of fencing will be required

dwijit: Given, Rectangular field has to be fenced three sides now one side remaining that side should be length or breadth we take it as breadth now given area of rectangle is 680ft area of rectangle= length x breadth we know breadth already so lengthx20=680 length=680/20. length is 34ft three sides have to fenced in this two rectangles and one breadth so we know length as 34 and breadth is 20 (fencing= 2(L)+B). 2(34)+20. =68+20 = 88ft
