For Rectangle

2(L + W) = Perimeter

here, L = length of the field

W = width of the field

Perimeter = 600 feet (given)

Also, condition given in question is length is 10 feet more than its width, that is

L = W + 10

Putting this in Perimeter formula

2(W + 10 + W) = 600

2(2W + 10) =600

2W + 10 = (600 / 2)

2W + 10 = 300

2W = 300 - 10

2W = 290

W = 145

hence, Width = 145 feet

but we are asked for length of the field

so length = W + 10

L = 145 + 10

L = 155 feet
