Area of the rectangular field = 120*48cm square.

Area of one triangular field = 1/2*18*8=72.

so, = 120*48/72 = 80.

so, Answer= 80 triangular flower beds

Given :

A rectangular field is of 120 m long and 48m wide. Triangular flower beds with side 18m and height as 8m is laid in this field.

To Find :

No of triangular beds.

Solution :

Analysis :

Here we first have to find the area of rectangle. Then the area of triangle. Now by dividing the area of the rectangle with the triangle we can find the number of triangular beds.

Required Formula :

  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

  • Area of triangle = ½ × base × height

Explanation :

Area of rectangle :

We know that if we are given the length and breadth of the rectangle and is asked to find the area then our required formula is,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

where,

  • Length = 120 m
  • Breadth = 48 m

Using the required formula and substituting the required values,

⇒ Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

⇒ Area of rectangle = 120 × 48

⇒ Area of rectangle = 5760

Area of rectangle = 5760 m².

Area of triangle :

We know that if we are given the base and height of the triangle and is asked to find the area then our required formula is,

Area of triangle = ½ × base × height

where,

  • Base = 18 m
  • Height = 8 m

Using the required formula and substituting the required values,

⇒ Area of triangle = ½ × base × height

⇒ Area of triangle = ½ × 18 × 8

⇒ Area of triangle = 1 × 9 × 8

⇒ Area of triangle = 72

Area of triangle = 72 m².

No of beds :

We know that if we are given the area of the triangle and area of the rectangle and is asked to find the no of beds then our required formula is,

No of beds = Area of rectangle/Area of triangle

where,

  • Area of rectangle = 5760 m²
  • Area of triangle = 72 m²

Using the required formula and substituting the required values,

⇒ No of beds = Area of rectangle/Area of triangle

⇒ No of beds = 5760/72

⇒ No of beds = 80

No of triangular beds = 80.

Number of triangular beds to be laid is 80.
