Step-by-step explanation:

length = 60m

breadth=40m

area = l×b =60m×40m

=2400m2

So ,by adding the length of road to length of the rectangle we get,

length+5m+5m=60m+10m

=70m

adding with breadth we get,

breadth +5m+5m=40m+10m

=50m

finding the area of the big rectangle formed(side+width of road)

=70m×50m

=3500m2

Area of road= area of big rectangle - area of small rectangle

=3500m2 - 2400m2

=1100m2

cost of making road 1m2 =₹500

cost of making road 1100m2 = ₹(1100×500)

=₹5,50,000

Therefore,the cost of making the entire road is ₹5,50,000.
