Rectangular field 160 * 80 m having 4 paths 2 of 2m Parallel to length & 2 of 3m parallel to breadth then Area of Paths =  1256 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

A rectangular field of dimensions 160 m x 80 m

Length = 160 m

Breadth = 80 m

two paths of 2 m parallel to the breadth

=> Internal length = 160 - 2 - 2 = 156 m

two paths each of 3 m width parallel to length

=> internal breadth = 80 - 3 - 3 = 74 m

Area of Path = 160 * 80  -  156 * 74

= 1256 m²

Another Way to solve :

two paths of 2 m parallel to the breadth

Area = 2 * 2 * 80 = 320 m²

two paths each of 3 m width parallel to length

Area = 2 * 3 * 160 = 960 m²

These paths will intersect at 4 points

Area of intersection =4 * 2 * 3 = 24 m²

Area of Path = 320 + 960 - 24  =  1256 m²
