Given :- A rectangular floor measuring 3 m by 9 m is getting tiled by one square meter tiles. Through how many tiles will the diagonal of this rectangular floor pa ss ?

Solution :-

→ Length of rectangular floor = 9 m

→ Breadth of rectangular floor = 3 m

so, Prime factors of length and breadth is ,

→ 9 = 3 * 3

→ 3 = 1 * 3

then,

→ HCF (length , breadth) = 3 m .

therefore,

→ Total square tiles of 1m pa ss the diagonal of rectangular floor = HCF (L, B)(length / HCF + Breadth/HCF - 1) = length + breadth - HCF = 9 + 3 - 3 = 9 tiles (Ans.)
