Step-by-step explanation:

ANSWER

Given,

A rectangular lawn 60 meters by 40 meters has two roads each 5 meters wide running in the middle of it one parallel to length and the other parallel to breadth

Area of the road=40×5+60×5−5×5

=200+300−25

=475sqm

Given,

Cost of graveling the roads =60 paise per sq meter.

∴475×60paise

=28500 paise

=Rs.285

Answer-

432m²

Solution-

Dimensions- 64&48m²

Formula for A of rectangle= l×w

So, 64×48=3072m²

area covered by path= 3072 - {(64-4)×(48-4)}

= 3072-(60×44)

=3072-2640

=432m²

(we subtracted 4 on both sides path was around whole park and not just two sides of rectangle)
