Area of original garden =25*15=375 m^2

Area of original garden =25*15=375 m^2after path is added around rectangle, new length = 25+2*5=35 m

Area of original garden =25*15=375 m^2after path is added around rectangle, new length = 25+2*5=35 mnew breadth =15*2*5=150 m

Area of original garden =25*15=375 m^2after path is added around rectangle, new length = 25+2*5=35 mnew breadth =15*2*5=150 mArea of rectangle with path =35*150=5250 m^2

Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

Cost of covering the path with red gravel = Rs 52500

● Explanation -

Area of rectangular garden -

A1 = l × b

A1 = 100 × 80

A1 = 8000 m^2

Area of inside rectangle is -

A2 = (100-2×2.5) × (80-2×2.5)

A2 = 95 × 75

A2 = 7125 m^2

So area of the path is -

A = A1 - A2

A = 8000 - 7125

A = 875 m^2

Cost of covering the path with red gravel is -

Cost = 875 × 60

Cost = Rs 52500

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
