A rectangular garden is 70 m long and 55 m
broad. A path 3 m wide is to be built around
it. Find the area of the path and cost of
gravelling it at a rate of 17 per m2.​

===> ( 70 + 2 ) × 3

===> ( 55 + 2 ) × 3

===> 55 + 6

===> 61 m

Area of the garden including path

===> 76 × 61

===> 4,636 m²

Area of the path = 4,636 - 3,850 = 786m²

Cost of levelling = 786 × 17 = ₹ 13,362
