A rectangular garden is of length 50m and breadth 30 m. A path of width 3.5 m is left all around inside.Find the area of the path

Given :-

  • Length of the Rectangular garden = 50m

  • Breadth of the Rectangular garden = 30m

  • Width of the path = 3.5m

To Find :-

  • Area of the path

Solution :-

we know that,

Area of the Rectangular garden = length × Breadth

By substituting values,

➙ 50m × 30m

1500m²

Width of the Path =3.5m

Now,

Length of the Garden without path =

➙ 50m - ( 3.5m + 3.5m)

➙ 50m - 7m

➥ 43m

∴ Length = 43m

Breadth of the garden without path =

➙ 30m - ( 3.5m + 3.5m)

➙ 30m - 7m

➥ 23m

∴ Breadth = 23m

Area of the garden without path = length × breadth

By substituting values,

➙ 43m × 23m

⠀➥ 989m²

Now,

Area of the path = Area of the garden - Area of the garden without path

By substituting values,

➙ 1500m² - 989m²

⠀⠀⠀➱ 511m²

Hence, The area of the path is 511m²
