A rectangular garden measures 80m by 65m. From the centre of each side, a path 1.5m wide goes across to

the centre of the opposite side. Find the area of the paths.​

Area of first path = ( 1.5 X 65 ) = 97.5

Area of second  path = ( 1 .5 X 80 ) = 120

Common area of both parts = ( 1.5 X 1.5 ) = 2.25

Therefore, total area of paths = ( 97.5 + 120 ) - 2.25

= 217.5 - 2.25

= 215.25 sq. m
